In order to do this first restoration, I first started with the tints and shades of the photos. I made the shadows more prominent in the restored version. it looked better to me that way. Then I used the band-aid tool to fix all the white spots I could in the background. For the spots i couldn't the band-aid to fix, I used the clone stamp and cloned some of the areas to fix all the white spots that were on the mans hair, or close to his body's outline. The final result was the photo on the right.
